Don't let all this 'green' stuff fool you. And don't let only what you've heard about 'green' limit you either. We have discovered that there's way more to all of this 'going green' buzz than just meets the eyes. There's a whole lot more going on here than solar panels, hybrid cars, hyper global warming, or recycling bags at the grocery store.
There are people out there across the nation, in Alaska, in the Andes, from Sweden to New Zealand in backyards, villages, farms, garages, and warehouses finding very ingenious ways to free themselves. Free themselves from what? you may ask. The question should be, "free themselves FOR what?"
One answer lies in the fact that there are people finding ways to free themselves for whatever they want, whenever they need it, where ever they may want to live. What in the world are we talking about? We're talking about independence, self-sufficiency, the ability to survive--and survive amazingly well--with the quality and conveniences we've become accustomed to having. It's the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the basics (like healthy food and pure water) are covered, the essentials are in place (like shelter, power, fuel, transportation) and the extras are there if you want them.
We asked ourselves: If everything shut down tomorrow, would we be fine?
